I think that growing food is a much better idea than growing grass. It’s a cool idea.
As for vitamins - I tend to lean towards rejecting them and getting all necessary nutrients from food. I certainly would never suggest that all people (or even that all vegetarians or vegans) need vitamins. Just eat lots of fruits and veggies and some nutritional yeast (b12) and flax seed (omega3).
But I do currently take a multi-vitamin. I haven’t noticed any change, good or bad. And, well, I went 25 years without vitamins as a vegetarian and 1 year without vitamins as a vegan so I think I’m OK :)
I take a multi-vitamin, too, but I’m considering stopping when my current supply runs out. I eat a pretty wide variety of whole foods, so I think I get pretty much everything I need from that, although I wonder a bit about iron. I might start tracking my food intake again and see.
