This article about Gary Yourofsky, vegan activist, offers an interesting look into what beliefs drive one to become, well, a vegan activist. Who knew cheese was more addictive than heroin?

Here’s an interesting article introducing Alternative Outfitters, a company that specializes in eco-friendly, vegan, cruelty-free fashion. (It’s really got me tempted to walk into a random shoe store and say, “I love these boots, but are they vegan?” and see what kind of look I get.)

Now here’s something I never write about: bacon. But this site caught my eye, featuring a vegetarian who goes back to the dark side with a month of the salty meat, which she claims is so tasty that it breaks many would-be vegetarians with its temptation. Apparently I am completely immune to the wiles of bacon, because the photos of her journey did nothing but ruin my appetite (you’ve been warned).

That bacon stuff is crazy! My mom was a vegetarian for 8 years and went back to the other side because of her cravings for yes, bacon and pork ribs.

How funny! I think I might have missed bacon when I first went vegetarian, but now that so much time has passed, I don’t even think of it as food anymore. I do miss the veggie bacon I used to get sometimes when I lived in the US, though. :)
