Vegetarian sushi in Kyoto
For some reason I was just remembering this delicious pickled vegetable sashimi we had during our vacation in Japan last year. It was our first evening in Kyoto, and we chose a restaurant which happened to specialize in this vegetable sushi. Pickled veggies aren’t usually my favorite, but this stuff was good! Plus you have to love a restaurant where the house specialty is completely vegetarian.
If only I had a clue where we were that night, so that I could go back someday…

Jul, thank you so much for your wise comment today! I should not bother addressing the gossipy people and ones who make fun of my veganism, but I just had it today! Lol! Thank you so much for your comment.
The sushi photo is gorgeous. It looked like fish at first, but it’s pickled veggies?! Yum! I have not made my own sushi is ages, but I’d like to. Especially after seeing this post! :)

The pink one in the background does look like fish, doesn’t it? But they were all veggies! Not that I could name most of the veggies… but they were yummy!
And Candi, you totally have my respect for making such conscious, deliberate food choices for you and your kids. If you feel like complaining about the gossipy types, go for it! :)

I think the pink one is “myouga”, which is related to ginger.
