Vegetarian Carnival #2
Welcome to the second edition of the Vegetarian Blog Carnival. There were lots of great entries again this time, so get reading!
general
At The Tao of Good Health Golbguru presents 6 Awesome Health Benefits Of Bananas, describing the post as “some reasons to justify going bananas with bananas. :)” And while we’re learning about fruit, check out Getting to Know Your Food: Strawberries by Caroline Jeannot at Raw Lifestyle.
At 60 IN 3, Gal Josefsberg tells us about what we can learn by keeping a food journal, saying, “It was interesting for me to see my sources of protein and fat and how the numbers stacked up against my expectations.” I’ve keep a food journal, too, and was equally surprised at the results!
At soychick, Michelle talks about her conversion to veganism and the movie Earthlings. Paige Davis presents How to Go Vegan: Naturalpath Sits Down With the Authors of Skinny Bitch. The universe is conspiring to try to get me to read this book, I can feel it.
Jussi attempts to summon the vegetarian sausage-master at DiscZero, and Mark25 presents Learning How To Cook A Vegetarian Meal With A Meaty Taste at HotStrategies.com. Personally I prefer my meals without a “meaty taste”, but I suppose this isn’t the case for everyone…
Chef Erik shows us where he works at Left Handed Saute Pan. FitBuff presents 5 Tips to Get Your Kids to Eat Healthy. Aspeth presents a little wine primer for the uninitiated in Getting Past the Color Barrier posted at Twelve Years Of Being Annoyed By Chloe Sevigny.
recipes
DeputyHeadmistress presents an easy recipe for Golden Peanut Rice at The Common Room. muse presents one of my all-time favorite foods, pesto, at me-ander.
Jennbecluv has massive amounts of fun with kohlrabi (a veggie I can’t get enough of) in her post Something Original at Straight from the Farm. Stephanie presents Black Bean Salsa posted at Stop the Ride!.
Expat Chef presents Keeping it Simple posted at The Expatriate’s Kitchen, saying, “Fantastic summer salad, all fresh and in-season right now.”At Country Kitchen Pantry, Linda Martin presents Scalloped Potatoes.
And last but not least, you never thought a blog called The Beef Jerky Blog would be featured here, did you? Well, Ant there has presented us with Vegetarian Jerky (Where’s the Beef?). Sounds, um, interesting. Thanks, Ant!

That concludes this edition. Now my part is done, and yours is just beginning: check out the entries, leave comments, and even link up to your favorites from your own blog. Think of it as vegetarian networking.
The Vegetarian Carnival is about to start roaming around to other host blogs, but will make an appearance back here at Veggie Chic at least once a month or so. Contact me via email (see link in sidebar) if you’d like to be considered as a future host for the carnival.
Next up for hosting is Surface Tensions on July 16th. Submit your blog article to the next edition of vegetarian carnival using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.
