Scared of the Bird Flu? Go Veggie!

Why not? Stranger things have been true.
Animal rights activists are claiming that the cruel, unsanitary practices of factory farming are causing the disease, and coming into contact with or eating the diseased birds will naturally lead to the possibility of contracting the dreaded flu.
The cramming together of thousands of chickens in buildings where the birds are never allowed outside and live in their own filth was an ideal breeding ground for disease, the group said in a statement.
“Avian flu is just one symptom of a very sick and cruel industry,” it quoted PETA Asia-Pacific director Jason Baker as saying.
Avoiding the carrier to avoid the disease? It does have a sort of logic to it.

Unfortunately I think a lot of people turn a deaf ear to PETA because they are PETA.
Dr. McDougall has an interesting article in his March newsletter that makes a good follow up to your post.

Thank you for the great link and views, Kayll!
You’re absolutely right about PETA; any good work is unfortunately cancelled by the way they alienate people.
