My potatoes are blue
I came across these beautiful blue potatoes in the grocery store the other day, and couldn’t resist picking some up. What can I say, I’m a sucker for vibrant colors. Potatoes actually come in a variety of colors, but it is rare to see anything more intense than a pale yellow in this area.
I used the blue potatoes in a recipe for Roasted Peruvian Potatoes (although I got the nationalities wrong, since my potatoes were Swedish and my oregano Italian). I’m by no means a potato connoisseur, so to me these tasted pretty similar to regular potatoes. They sure did look pretty, though!

I love blue potatos too, although I agree, I don’t think they taste any different. But they are more fun and interesting to have on a plate than plain old white ones!

I was looking at your art blog and followed you over here. Is this the subject of that new painting you were referring to I’m seeing? I may have to try a still life with blue potatoes. :)
(I must admit that I have hamburgers on the grill and find it humorous that I am on a veggie site at the moment)
