Thanks to undercover videos by the Humane Society which exposed some disgusting behavior in a beef processing plant, the USDA has issued a recall on 143 million pounds of ground beef.
As if I needed another reason to be happy I don’t eat meat.

This New York Times article about a mysterious illness appearing in pork factory workers is not for the weak of stomach. I actually gagged more than once while reading it (you’ve been warned).
But what struck me most about this article wasn’t the graphic descriptions of dismembering pig carcasses but rather this little sentence:
