It’d be remiss of me not to mention the start of asparagus season (Spargelzeit) here in Germany. You have never seen a more celebrated vegetable! There are stands all over town selling the stalks by the kilo, and many restaurants have special asparagus menus. They love this stuff here!

I woke up this morning to find that every single large glass we own was dirty in the dishwasher… except for this beer stein. My breakfast smoothie (a banana, frozen berries, rice milk, cinnamon, and a splash of vanilla extract) tasted extra good in it.
