2007’s worst foods: meat, meat, and more meat

by Jul on January 13th, 2008

200 Baconator3Mr. Bad Food has just put out a list of the 10 worst foods of 2007 that made me giggle. I’m always wary of new developments in the world of fast or convenience foods, but they’ve really outdone themselves with these items. The creators of these monstrocities scoff at the notion of healthy eating, laugh in the face of calories and saturated fat and cholesterol and sodium.

While one can only assume that consumers actually find these foods tasty, for vegetarians like me they look more like food nightmares. No need to baconize me, thanks all the same, Baconator (#9 on the list).

The only vegetarian item on the list is a 670-calorie Frappuccino from Starbucks. Worth it?

I noticed immediately that none of the foods in that list contain vegetable or fruit. So… that tells me that good food is veg or fruit based. Rather good news for us but we knew that already! ;-)

Oh Jul, that’s just too funny AND frightening at the same time. I’m not sure we have anything that even comes close to those foods here in Australia. Not to say we don’t have an awful lot of crap food. And not to say we don’t have lots of health problems. But . . .

Ugh. I think I gained 10 pounds just by looking at those numbers. Give me my plate of veggies and I’ll be fine, thanks!

Oh there’s other lists with some pretty terrible veggie dishes, here’s one with a a veggie dish being #2 as the worst!

Thought, I suppose at some point they’ll add bacon to it and make it far worse :-P

Im convinced that the more gross and unhealthy a dish is, the more people like it and want it. My roommate owns a restaurant and we are always talking about different dishes, and i always joke with her, that basically she needs to make it gross and unhealthy and people will fight over it. Sad, but soooo true.

If i had the capital and resources, i would open a veggie restaurant and call it, you guessed right, “Groovy Veggie Cafe”.

The baconator from your article is the grossest meal item on the list. Yuck!!!

OMG, 203 g of fat in that thing??? And to think some people believe that since an onion is a vegetable, they’re being healthy :)
